Purchased from auction with salvage title, always wanted one, 5000 miles, car is like new, when i found out how much is the price to restore the car and parts price wow, do not crash it or you gonna end up spending thousands, for me it was worth purchasing another car and end up purchasing second car to restore mine, end up spending all together 25000 and i still have the second car with engine and body parts, after i sell all those im gonna end up probably with 15000 car that i spent to build my dream car, fast and respect its power, i drove lots of sport cars, but this one is the only car that will try to kill you if you do not respect your throttle, very fast and easy to loose control. over all LOVE it!!!!!

I bought the 2001 Viper GTS new. I've driven it 20,000 miles and raced it a few times on a real drag strip. Everyone, young, old, rich, poor, male, female, loves this car except SOME Corvette owners (even some Corvette owners like it but might not admit it). It is a blast and makes people smile whenever you drive it. A little hard to get in and out of if you're not a teenage (I'm 52) but it's comfortable when you're inside. Though fast and quick the car is easy to drive (my 75 year old mother drove it like it was her grocery getter) and it's built well with good engineering and bullet proof, low tech components. No gimmicks just lots of cubic inches. Not a daily driver but it's a lot of fun and I've had very little trouble with it.

I can think of no good excuse to own one of these. Its uncomfortable, hot, loud as thunder, horrible ride, too low, everywhere you go its like you are a movie star..people drive you nuts. However, I drive mine about once a week, I look forward to doing so and wouldnt sell mine for half again retail. Its is not loveable in any way, but I absolutely love mine and wouldnt trade it for any car valued under 200k. If you want a DEPENDABLE, performing monster, this is your car
